Biggest Loser Meal Ideas: Breakfast Winning Menus

Choose one daily

1 cup steel-cut oatmeal, 1 Tbs. cranberries
3 scrambled egg whites, 1 Tbs. fresh herbs
________________

1 cup whole-grain cereal such as Kashi Honey Sunshine
I cup fat-free milk
1/2 grapefruit or 1 small orange
________________

4-egg-white omelet with 1 oz. reduced fat cheese, chopped vegetables to taste
1 slice turkey bacon
1 slice whole-grain toast
________________

Lunch Menus

Choose one daily

Helen’s Personal Pizza:
1 large whole-wheat pita
1/4 cup each marinara sauce and roasted tomatoes
1 oz. reduced-fat mozarilla
1 slice turkey bacon
fresh basil and crushed red pepper to taste;
bake at 375 degrees until crisp

3 oz. tuna, 1/3 cup fat-free Greek-style yogurt, chopped vegetables to taste
3 whole-wheat crackers
1/2 cantaloupe
________________

Helen’s Favorite Salad:
1/3 cup sliced grilled chicken breast
1 sliced pear
1 Tbs. each sliced almonds and dried cranberries over
3 cups mixed baby spinach and romaine with
3 Tbs. fat-free vinaigrett

Dinner Menus

Choose one daily

Helen’s Fish Tacos:
3 oz. grilled white-fish
1 oz. reduced-fat cheese
veggies to taste
2 Tbs. fat-free Greek yogurt
hot sauce to taste in 2 corn tortillas
________________

4 oz. grilled or roasted chicken breast
2 cups grilled or roasted vegetables, 1 oz. reduced-fat cheese
________________

4 oz. grilled salmon; serve with lemon wedge and 2 Tbs. fat-free Greek yogurt mixed with 1 tsp. minced fresh dill
3/4 cup roasted baby carrots or beets
3 Tbs. pine nuts

Snack

Choose one daily

1/4 cup hummus
1 cup cherry tomatoes, sliced cucumbers or bell peppers

1/2 cup air-popped popcorn
1/3 cup whole grain cereal
2 Tbs. slivered almonds,
1 tsp. semisweet chocolate chips
________________

1 cup fat-free milk or yogurt
3/4 cup berries
________________

1 protein shake
________________

1 stick string cheese
1/2 cup grapes
________________

100-calorie pack guacamole, salsa to taste
8 baked tortilla chips
________________
